ABOUT US

Kevin Martin

My name in Kevin and originally I am from California. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Comparative Literature. Since then I have lived in Russia, Ukraine and, mostly, Poland. I am the owner of Adzika and have 20+ years teaching experience with all levels. I have additional experience in teaching Business English, Skills Training, English for Specific Purposes, TOEFL, BEC and various exam preparation. In addition, for more than 15 years, I was a Cambridge Certified CFE/CAE/CPE Examiner as well as an examiner for the internationally recognized ILEC and IELTS exams (both writing and speaking). I am also experienced with Computer Assisted Learning and lessons via the internet.

Greg Johnson

Hello! My name is Greg, and I’m originally from Houston, TX, in the United States. I have been teaching here in Poland for over two years. I hold both a CELTA and TEFL certificates and a degree in International Studies from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston. My educational background gives me both a focus on the English language, and on cultural sensitivity, awareness and education. Along with riding my bicycle, hiking outdoors and spending time cooking, teaching has long been a passion of mine. Living here, I have been very fortunate to do what I love here in Poland. Having spent only a short time in this country, I have found teachers and students alike who share an interest and pursuit in developing their English education. As a result, I strive to create an atmosphere that is both challenging and supportive in my lessons. It has been a great joy in helping others learn and succeed in English. Therefore, my goal is to show students that English can be gratifying as well as useful in today’s world.

Nick Jaffe

My name is Nick Jaffe, and I’m originally from Los Angeles, CA. I’ve spent the past 5 years teaching English in various countries such as Vietnam, China, and now Poland. I graduated with a degree in history from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and am TEFL and CELTA certified.

Aside from history, I’m an avid sports fan, and I quite enjoy introducing my students to one of my greatest passions, the NFL. One thing I’ve learned in my travels is that often times, the only thing holding you back from making a positive change or improvement is yourself.

My goal with all my students is to provide a learning environment where they can feel confident and comfortable. I use a modern teaching approach that introduces new target language and grammar points, but set in a context of real-life situations. I’ve only been in Poland for one year, but hope to continue for many more!

Josephine Maes

Hello, my name is Josephine. I am from the Mile-hi city of Denver, Colorado. I moved to Caracas, Venezuela, in 1987-88; there I worked as an executive bilingual secretary and taught EFL on my “siesta”, hence my professional career began.

I later moved to Cracow, Poland, in 1990, and taught for 10 years for International House Krakow, a teacher training center and testing center for Cambridge, which is where I received my certification as a TEFL teacher in 1993. I am an entrepreneur and have had several of my own businesses which include: import-export, telecommunications/mobile phone services and two of my own restaurants.

Over my lifetime I have acquired over 20 years of teaching experience as a freelance TEFL teacher and have taught people from pre-school to 81 years of age. I worked with Project Hope in Krakow, have taught business English to high-profile individuals in different sectors, professors at the UJ and general EFL classes to young adults-students-professionals. I love to prepare students for the Cambridge exams FCE, CAE & CPE with 100% success stories.

As a speaker of English-Spanish-Polish (Unesco Certified interpreter of Polish-English, post-graduate course at the Jagiellonian University) and a world citizen I am able to open the door to the world of English language for people to use as one of the most important tools in our global society. I have met the most incredible people in this field and will continue to assist those who are ready and willing to take the journey.

Olivia Olsen

Hi, my name is Olivia and I am an English teacher from Seattle, WA USA. I obtained my B.S in Psychology from the University of Oregon. In addition, I hold a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate.

Before moving to Poland to teach English, I spent many years traveling the world in the performing arts industry, at this point I have traveled to almost 40 countries on 5 continents. With my background as a performer and as an elite athlete, I have learned the one key to optimal performance is confidence. To gain more confidence for peak performance we need to practice, practice, practice!

As a teacher, I cater my lessons to my students goals, needs, interests and learning styles giving them the tools they need to be successful when using English. With my extensive background in working for a multinational corporation and global travel, I have learned the importance of speaking English with confidence and how it is the key to breaking down communication barriers. Since coming to Poland I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, both online and in person. I try to make my lessons fun and interesting to keep students talking! As the grand daughter of a Polish immigrant to the USA, I love learning about Polish history, culture, language, and food.  As an avid traveller and foodie, I love any travel and restaurant recommendations.

HOW
WE
WORK?

We come to you or provide our services via telecommunication applications, such as Zoom.

We start by providing a levels test to establish the students proper level and follow that up during the first lesson in which we do a SWOT analysis and set up a general plan of action.

Free of charge we provide .pdf versions of books for students to use via their computer or to print as needed.

We strongly encourage students to do homework but do not insist.

RECOMMENDATIONS

We have had an on-going contract with Adzika Language Services for more than 3 years which shows just how pleased we are with his services. Adzika has provided teachers for between 10 and 20 hours per week to our employees during this time and each of them has been pleased with the lessons. As our company has grown Kevin has always been available to us and helped accommodate our changing needs. I would definitely recommend Adzika’s In-business services to any company looking to help its employees improve their English.

Dominik Magon, Director of Engineering w Telestream

Adzika has been supplying lessons to our employees for over 10 years. The lessons are always practical, yet full of humor, very focused and, when need be, demanding. As a company we have asked Adzika to do many different types of lessons and they have always delivered. It is without hesitation that I recommend Adzika to any company looking for high quality yet personable language lessons.

Dariusz Pastula, Manager of HR at a leading Risk Management Co.

We have been cooperating with Adzika Language Services since 2016r. Over this time Adzika has provided both individual and group lessons for our employees. The classes for students with different language levels have always been provided by highly qualified teachers – native speakers. What is worth mentioning, is the individual approach to each lesson and interesting way of teaching, as well as appropriate use of multiple educational aids. We value effective communication, reliability and flexibility of cooperation with Adzika. We are happy with our collaboration with Adzika and recommend their services to everyone who is seeking a trustworthy partner, providing top quality, yet stress-free and informal English classes.

Anna Strychalska, Senior Administration Specialist w Scaleworks

I am happy to write this letter of recommendation for Adzika. Kevin has a positive attitude, he’s very patient, supportive and dedicated to his pupils. Worth mentioning is his sense of humor 🙂 I confirm that he is a great teacher. I recommend working with Adzika.

Magda Ciaciek, Senior Account Manager w Heads Advertising

I have attended English lessons with Adzika for a few years. I like the lessons very much. The instructor is always prepared for lessons, shares many stories about current affairs so the lessons are always interesting and you do not know how quickly time passes… Kevin is determined to teach us proper grammar and pronunciation, he encourages us to learn English at home. He is very communicative person so teaching the language comes very easily to him. I recommend Kevin as an English teacher.

Krzysztof Cwikla, Principal Database Administrator at Oracle

Kevin is a great teacher! He adjusts lessons to client’s needs, interests and even … mood. Thanks to our lessons I’ve improved my skills and confidence in writing and speaking. Thank you 🙂

Agnieszka Zawisza, Communications Expert at leading Risk Management Co.

Kevin is very competent teacher and intelligent person so being the native speaker is not his only asset. Classes with him were not another textbook-driven course with test after each chapter but he was able to identify key issues students have. It was genuine pleasure to have classes with him.

Lukasz Kulig, IT Architect at Parasoft SA

Kevin is an excellent and highly recommended English teacher. The thing I enjoyed the most in our lessons is the contact with the real English language native speakers would really use, not language “from the book” so often taught at schools and courses in Poland. In addition, Kevin understands adults’ learning process and designs the lessons keeping that in mind. All the time spent in the classroom is well organized and passes quickly with big variety of activities.

Mateusz Gurgul, Agile Coach at Grand Parade

Znakomity i kompetentny nauczyciel, wysoka kultura, perfekcyjne metody nauczania.

Jacek Adamczyk, Senior Expert w MRDA SA
